The Eagles gave up over 600 yards and won. Their secondary reminded me (painfully) of the Huskies. But all those DBs will be on floats riding down Broad Street.

This is a cautionary tale for Edsall. Do not go into a shell. Offense wins championships too.

Of course, the game was won in the end by a defensive play.

Had the Falcons went into a shell last year, they'd have been celebrating too.

Defense doesn't win championships as often as it used to. Pats had 613 total yds, Eagles had 538.

Very entertaining game. Wonder what will happen with the Eagles' QB situation next year?

It's a bit sad that many games are down to one team's defense finding a way to make one play during the game to tilt the final outcome in their favor. The game I saw last night, while entertaining, was like empty calories with no real defensive aspect present. It's clear Patricia screwed the Pats putting in a half- xxx effort with one foot out the door.

Defense got the Eagles there. They allowed 17 total points to the Vikings and Falcons, who averaged 23.9 and 22.1 PPG in the regular season. 4th in points allowed, 4th in total yard allowed, 1st in rushing yards allowed. Allowed 36 total points in their five home games since their bye week (Chicago, Oakland, Dallas, Atlanta, Minnesota). The defense made one single play all game, and it won it for them.

They just also happened to have the offense to go blow for blow with one of the best to ever do it.

Against Brady the best defense against him has to be your offense, keep him on that sideline, thats what Foles and that Eagles offense did., and their D was just good enough.

Defense was virtually non-existent. One play. Offenses are so far ahead of the defenses today they might as well save cap room and only play 6 on that side of the ball.

Wentz will be the QB if he’s healthy.

The Eagles played defense against the Falcons and Vikings and the Pats D stopped them from winning a superbowl, no D no ring so defense still wins championships, or loses them.

Right now the Philly QB starter should be Foles. He couldn't have played better in the playoffs. He is the starter.

Trade Wenz to Cleveland for one of their top picks (1st or 4th) and either there second round pick 33rd or a player. Use the draft pick for Rosen or Darnold or Allen and let them learn under Foles. The other player or pick could contribute immediately. Let's not put Wenz in Canton yet. He was Ok last year and had a good run on agood team this season, but that's it.

You're not intelligent.

I didn't think it was a good game. It was a good ending, but not a good game. That wasn't football. That was Arena League on steroids. It would be a nice game in week 7, but not the Superbowl. One punt and one sack the entire game (or something along those lines). Wide Receivers running five yards clear of any defender/coverage all night long. This is the "football" we get when hitting by DBs is eliminated from the game. I know it has to be that way. This is more of an observation than a complaint.

900+ yards before the end of the third quarter. Did anyone have any doubt each offense would gain a least 40 yards each possession? I don't like either team, so I was only watching as a football fan.

LOL Wentz might’ve been the MVP before his season was cut short.

Um. Ok.

Went s was in mvp conversation when he went down. Definitely should trade him and not Foles though.

Lol Foles of Wentz. Philly has a lot invested in Wentz. They built that offense around him hence him having an MVP season. Foles is going to Jacksonville and Bortles is getting traded.

As a Patriots fan, I wish Carson Wenz had been healthy and played. Nick Foles was really good, making some great throws through narrow windows of opportunity. Unlikely CW plays at that level.

Yep can’t see Carson Wentz playing at a high level like that. He only had a 101.9 passer rating and 33 td passes in 13 games this year. Guy needs to accept he is a backup.

There is no way TDH believes this stuff.
