Last night I noticed opponents were getting good looks and at times uncontested 3 point shots. Quite a lot of them actually. The scouting report showed that Forde is one of the best bombers in the nation.

This is not new to OK State game, but seemingly a pattern of sorts. Those 3s ruined our comeback chances for sure last night.

I'm no coach but how does this happen game after game and how do good defensive teams stop the rain?

JC used to be all over covering the 3's. Case in point; McNamara on Syracuse years ago. A great 3 point shooter if left unguarded, but JC had someone in his face at all times and he rarely got an open look. And his PPG and 3 pt shooting% were abysmal against the Huskies. Way below his season average.

In the second half it looked like Vital was face-guarding Forde. Worked OK.

They did get way too many open looks. The team doesn't get back well, doesn't fight through screens well, doesn't rotate well, and doesn't close out well. That's not...well...good.

Honestly, there weren't that many 3s that weren't at least contested, even if a few were under-screen late contests. Especially compared to the first few games where we over-helped constantly and got burned.

We actually had more open 3's than they did.

We don't defend the 3 well IMO, those late ones killed any chance we had.

We've let a D2 team officially put 30 on us with more than half the first half left. Let that sink in to all you "season is still alive and well!" sayers.

Wah wah wah wah...

Our three defense is to hope they start missing
