I know they are a different bird, but the BE is struggling to get the top 30 recruits for 2012-13 vs. other conferences. I'm sure there is a significant impact for the men's programs as well.

Compare this line-up of schools with any other conference. Only ACC is better. Really doubt conference affiliation is affecting BigEast recruiting

Memphis has been doing very well in recruiting..
Indeed. When they come they will be a major addition to the Big East. Number 2 class in 2013 right now.

Memphis, ND and Cuse all have a top 30 kids lined up from the 2013 class. Then again, Memphis isn't actually here yet and the other two schools are leaving. :)

They are recruiting 900 years in the future? Pastner is awesome. ;)
They can evaluate talent really good. Even Calipari has no chance against them in the coming hundreds of years.

Not all the top kids off the board yet. I know SJU is a finalist for both Rysheed Jordan and Jermaine Lawrence, but only 1 ship left. Lots of Big East teams have had big classes in the last 2 years and and quite young overall.

True but no way to deny negative recruiting is being used against league teams & is hurting teams to varying degrees. Although the BE is holding it's own in recruiting, until the comference attains a level of perceived stability (probably when tv contract is finalized by Aresco & team) it is what it is. The BE as a whole is pretty much in the same recruiting position as KO.

Not at all predicting the demise of the Big East but it sure is a changing and it all happened so damm fast. Football, Football ,Football changed the whole landscape of the Big East and again did it in a hurry. The future for us , who the hell knows.

IMO it's actually TV, TV, TV. Syracuse & Pitt to the ACC doesn't do much for fb right? The point is SEC & PAC 12 bball stink so they market fb...BE & ACC bball is extremely valuable to TV. So the fact that the BE became the first conference to hire a TV exec to be its commish is a genius response to the changing college sports environment.

Let's see what the new commish delivers before believing to much in the negative public campaign being sponsored primarily by ESPN.
