Interesting Sporting News article about the unidentified two schools potentially leaving the Big East including this little nugget about our favorite Irishmen.
4. Notre Dame. The smart people at Notre Dame have been looking for years for an excuse to join a proper football conference. The Irish would have been wise to keep the Big East together as their private playpen, but the traditionalists have held firm. A fissure in the Big East probably would send ND running to the ACC for cover. That’d be a significant loss for the Eastern Catholic schools that benefit from being in business with the Irish.
