On the SNY pregame show, it was announced that Amari is in concussion protocol and did not make the trip to the game. So UConn will have only 8 healthy players for tonight's game (March 2).

That may also explain her absence from the Villanova game even at the end.

It’s not like Amari was going to get a lot of PT tonight or for the rest of the season. But Amari being out for whatever length of time she’s out, make a thin UConn roster even thinner.

It changes the scenario if a big or someone playing as one gets injured or has foul trouble. If Aaliyah, Ice or Paige is unavailable the only option is inserting a PG (Ines) and having someone else who would be playing out of position man the 4.

We have survived for a while now not having to go past the limited 7 player rotation, but for that period and even more so going forward now, we are extremely vulnerable to a problem with any of the rotation players, and even more so with players at the 4 and 5. Keep fingers crossed.

That is sad to hear. A concussion issue could sit her down for the rest of the season.

She also took a big elbow to the chin not too long ago. Hopefully it isn't too serious and she will be back for the BE Tournament.

She's in concussion protocol, so what kind of updates would you be expecting? Plus any updates, if made public, usually occur during Geno's pregame availability conferences. Not sure when that happens for the BE Tournament.

Haven't seen much on Instagram showing practices, so I can't say I've seen her out there. Amari has recently started posting. She hadn't been for a few days. That may or may not be a sign.

I’m really surprised that with the early injuries that the staff didn’t try to get a couple of walk ons. But then again the injuries took place during the season except for Jana. Any 6’5” ladies playing rec ball at UConn?
