This is a huge opportunity for Diaco & the Huskies. Cincy has had their number in recent years, but can be had this season. UConn should be hungry after the loss to USF, they should be pissed off and out for blood. Getting back to .500 and knocking down a conference rival on the road would show that this team is making the transition from 200-level football (learning to not lost games, beating bad teams) to 300-level football (learning to WIN games, beating good teams). LET'S GO HUSKIES!
UConn slipped to 3-4, 1-1 in league play following a disappointing 28-20 loss to South Florida last week after a 40-13 win over Central Florida the week before.
It prompted UConn coach Bob Diaco on Monday to say the team regressed in some areas. The Huskies started the season with two wins, vs. FCS member Villanova and Army, but have lost four of their last five.
Cincinnati was the preseason favorite to win the division, but the Bearcats are 3-3 and in search of their first conference win at 0-2. The Bearcats, coming off a 14-point loss to BYU, have six conference games left. Saturday is homecoming day for Cincinnati.
The Huskies are 2-9 overall against the Bearcats, including 0-6 at Cincinnati.
