Cupping just screams of quackery. Anyone know of any randomized controlled trials?
You take like a wine glass globe, light a flame under it to extinguish the oxygen then place it on the skin. It creates a vacuum and sucks your skin up into the globe and basically gives you a hicky. Deeper red the mark, the more toxins you have supposedly. Like a deep tissue massage.

Cupping does work. It loosens up muscle. But before a game? That sounds like quackery, yes. I've had cupping and acupuncture done countless times and still do.
Acupuncture is criminally underutilized and stigmatized. No exaggeration.
