A lot has changed since this story at link below was written after Pitt/Syracuse jumped Don't think Malloy has been asked publicly about the issue it since, at least not for it to have made it into the google-plex. Sort of suprised the great NY Times didn't broach the subject with him.
It is kind of stunning Herbst/Manuel get ALL the questions about this and their bosses (Malloy/BOT) never/rarely. Hope their bosses haven't adopted the a "hands-off, let Sue/Warde do it strategy". Those 2 are just passing through. The "people's representatives" need to start getting their hands dirty here.
