Daniels wasnt a McDonalds All-American?

Thought he was like the #10 recruit of his class, I know that doesn't automatically make him one but was wondering what is the criteria to get honored being a McD AA? Is it only if u declare ur playing for UNC Duke or UK?

Since 1979, UConn 2014 & Maryland in thew early 2000's are the only schools to win the NC without a McD's AA on the team.

There are several situations that make it so a player doesn't get selected for the McD game. Drummond reclassifying late made it so he officially was never selected even though he would have without question made it the next year. I like the stats about UConn doing more with less, so I don't mind it.

It's a main reason why Caron Butler was not one. He was a very highly regarded recruit.

It's more if you're a 5th year player, which DeAndre was. He did a post graduate year at IMG Academy.

The selection criteria to be named to the McDonald’s All American Games Team adheres to the rules and regulations of the National High School Federation which states that once a student/athlete enters his/her ninth grade year, he/she has four consecutive years to complete his/her high school eligibility. Therefore, fifth-year players are not eligible to participate in the McDonald’s All American Games.
