With his length and shooting ability it's going to be almost impossible to guard him. No surprise he is now a consensus 5 star recruit. It's nice we have our number one recruiting target already committed.

He hasn't even started his senior year in high school. I was 120 pounds at that age.

Don't think size is a huge issue as he seems to be better proportioned than a Rip or DD coming in already..........

Im getting so excited to see some basketball.

Im not sure what kind of weight training he has available to him (my high school had a 100 sq ft weight room, with about 3 machines), but im sure KO has him on a diet/weight program already, and when he gets here, he will be training in the new facility...which followers of the football program know - makes an ENORMOUS difference.

But, man, 6'8.5" is a big kid. Love it !

His wingspan is only 6'8 according to his measurements, which is surprisingly small for someone his height. If he continues to grow and his arms lengthen out to around a 6'10- 7' wingspan, nba scouts will be drooling. If we can land a true center to man the 5 in '14, Nolan at the 4 and Hamilton at the 3 will form an imposing frontcourt.

Do you have a link for the wingspan measurements, for him and other guys we're recruiting?

Daniel Hamilton
Two things stood out concerning Hamilton. One, he is an excellent passer off the dribble. Over and over, he hooked up Cliff Alexander for dunks with precise passes on the move. Two, he did a great job defending the opposition's point guard in the open court.

I love hearing about a tall wing with guard skills (passing, on-ball defense). Too many times over the past 5-8 years we got enamored of these over-sized wings who were physical specimens but woefully underskilled at the small forward. It sounds like that won't be a problem at all for Hamilton.

It sounds like D Ham is really standing out at these events. You have to hope that our other targets and different positions who are not threatened by playing behind him will start to view him as a game changer who will increase their stock by being on the same team/taking defensive focus away.

Far from "woefully skilled"as you guys say.......could be they didn't live up to expectations but I know Sticks had a run during his junior year that was pretty damn impressive. And he while not what everyone expected he was a pretty damn good player and kid for the most part.

I agree he was not woefully skilled but it was pretty clear that is who he was alluding too.

Great news.

Now when a tall, lanky Hamilton gets tied up and pushed around like Rudy did his freshman year we can have the nay sayers bitching about how Ollie can't recruit, our weight lifting regimen sucks and how UConn needs to recruit players who are good now.
Someone do the board a favor and retrieve all the threads about Rudy when he was a frosh and cut/paste Hamilton's name in to the thread. Then lock all the threads.

Bonzie Colson. 6'4.5 with 6'11.5 wingspan. Wow. I would imagine the thought is the longer arms would lead to a lot of blocks and steals due to the deceptive reach. Is that accurate?
Sounds like another Jeff Adrien!
