The T at Maui ruffled a lot of feathers here. But as I said, either he needed that to get it out of his system or it’s his way of letting his team know his frustration and high expectations of them. But I don’t doubt him that he did not do that for no good reason, and he did it at an early season game.

Lots of you question that his dyed in the wool approach and temperament will ever change, I think he will mellow up, he will defy the “you cannot teach an old dog new tricks”

He spilled his guts in the article, a very good read.

It feels like the team is playing with a lot of weight on their shoulders… less confidence. The expectation to get number 3 may be a tough pill to swallow. One game at a time.

Some differences from prior years…

In 2023 team played with a chip on their shoulder… dawg mentality.

In 2024 it was straight confidence.

With all the turn over in the last couple years because of the talent Hurley and staff have developed is obviously hurting us and this team is much more a work in progress. It definitely wasn’t smooth sailing when Newton transferred here a few years ago and we still had posters on this board questioning his fit prior to the NCAA tournament.

This team is still finding its way and have not meshed as well as everyone would like and thankfully Hurley has recognized that the boys are not responding to Dan being pissed off every second they are together. I think a different approach is needed and that we will be fine by the year end tournaments.

He responds to the needs and personalities of his players. He recognizes Ego and the power of flexibility=lots of winning and very little turnover in personnel.
I think this staff's brilliance is off the x's and o's sheet.

The mindfulness movement is a huge factor. Nowadays, the best of the best practice it and those that do have a huge edge on those that don't. It's about breaking down even your most cherished "bad habits"

I would hope he’s not hanging that 3 peat stuff over their heads. As the coach he needs to work towards smaller achievable defensive and offensive goals so as the team gets better we can make some kind of run with confidence.
I hate the 3 peat talk and I would be very surprised to hear it from him after those 3 losses.

Perfect opportunity for you to settle into cheering for and watching the team one game at a time.

At least give an honest try.
