The Pepsi Center is a dump........Have they remodeled it since the last time we were there in 2009?............Its worse than the XL...........

better spacing than this coming year certainly. And from a Uconn perspective Albany is pretty nice though Springfield would have been better.

I don't see any of those places building WCBB. And I expect plenty of empty seats in at least a couple.

Well there there will be at least one seat filled in Greensboro..... and if I keep up at my current pace of downing burgers, donuts, cakes, bbq, and cheerwine.... I will be able to fill two seats

i guess Albany is the only site that will host for the firsr time... but they will get the UCONN contingent. OKC should get good support...... You would assume Tenn, Duke, and UNC will all be in play for Greensboro. I would expect Sacramento will have the smallest crowds.

.-.
Wish Phila. had gotten one.... I know they bid.

Why not? Those of us not from the south might not know where it is.

I assume a hoops fan would know Greensboro.... men's or women. Especially a UCONN fan.... men's or women's

Make Albany pay for every seat sold or not........This will stop these none WCBB sites from bidding on these games.............

Muffett if you believe what you said, then why is ND hosting a regional this year. Double speak on your part or your Athletic Department.

Wbb I think that is unfair. If you are a coach and see the regionals being sold, you can think it is a bad idea yet say I don't want us disadvantaged, so go get one of those. I wish Geno had done it frankly. Would it not have underscored the bad idea to have UConn host a regional?

NYS is a strong basketball state and while more of the talent is centered in NYC, don't they hold the state tournaments upstate? I think Albany could surprise and it is certainly a fairly easy travel location and central to the NE. They don't have a lot of sports competition in the area either.
Probably would have preferred Springfield, Trenton, or Philly but ... better than having to travel to the mid-west to see a regional like this year.

I usually go to see the last rounds of the NYS high school tournament...especially if there is a UConn-related kid playing.

It used to be held in Glens Falls....the Civic Center there holds about 6 thousand...no bad seats. I loved the small town atmosphere generated there with many of the teams staying at the Queensbury Hotel...a 5 minute walk from the arena. You could hang out and chat with coaches between games. A couple of years ago the NYS Federation tourney moved to Albany. The arena is much bigger with much less atmosphere... shorter drive for me than Glens Falls but I wish they had kept it up the Northway.

I hope it draws....the same arena hosted the NCAA wrestling championships a while back and I think they sold out.
Albany is not a bad site for UConn fans in terms of distance. I do think a smaller venue would be better...Springfield/Rhode Island?

I spend a lot of time in the Albany area. I think it will be a pretty good site for the regionals. It's a pretty decent college area, with good nightlife.

And so it OK City. looks like Greensboro is the answer to "which of these is nto like the others?"

Perhaps they could switch the site to Raleigh just to fit in ;)

But seriously.... Raleigh has failed miserably as a host the past two times, in terms of attendance. Even without a local team... Greensboro had much better attendance the last time it was held here in 2008.

If any of the folks on the board get sent to OKC next year, I'll be able to give them plenty of food recommendations. One of our favorite cities to visit, such a shame we can't afford the time to make the Women's College World Series an annual event. We tried.

And I agree with the above, all WBB fans should know Greensboro. Site of one of RU's greatest wins (thanks Duke) and worst losses (UConn).

I will definitely go to Albany. Pleasant drive from my town for sure. I expect UConn to have a very good team in 2015, and I'd be all about heading out to watch KML's last regional.

IMO, this just confirms what a joke this year's on-campus regional sites are. Talk about going from one extreme to the other....

If I wasn't a UConn fan I would root for a LV, Neb, ND and Stanford final four just to expose the idiocy of the NCAA tournament committee.

I sort of look like it as a trade-off. To increase interest (read income if you like) they put the regionals on campus this year. Next year, we should see more interest - ok, attendance - in the first 2 rounds at the top seed's sites, so we can give back on the Regionals. And it is still to be noted that OKC and Greensboro are (relatively) proven locales for WBB tourneys; Albany has proximity to UConn; Sacramento I'm not sure on.
