Curse of Charlie Creme (Bracketology: Oregon State replaces Stanford on #1 line)

There is a team that starts with D and ends with the last two letters of ke.

What's funny is that the headline for Creme's article is "Are Texas and Notre Dame in danger of missing the NCAA tournament?" Four years ago it was headline news when Duke missed the tourney for the first time in umpteen years. Now, after missing it again last year, not so much.

Come on now

Same day Oregon State learns 3-year starter Taya Corosdale will miss this season with hamstring tear: OSU women's basketball: Corosdale likely out for the season

Feel bad for Corosdale, hope she recovers quickly. Should have 2 more years of eligibility and can redshirt. She was a 2 year starter, not a 3 year starter though.

I also don't see this being a major blow in the grand scheme of things for OSU. Their 2 freshmen bigs look quite solid.

It's a Huge blow to OSU. OSU have great freshmen BIGs but they don't have the tournament experience Taya has, and, Taya for the past 2 years, along with Mikayla Pivec, has been our best 2 players in NCAA Tournament Play. Taya is multi-dimensional, inside-outside player, who can defend, rebound, pass, and hit the 3-pointer. OSU will have a different look without her. Others will have to step up in the post rotation.

Wasn't she beat out for a starting spot by both freshmen? Experience is great but Taya was a 38% shooter from the floor and just 29% from deep as a sophomore with more than half of her shots coming from beyond the arc. I think it is a blow as any injury would be to a good role player, but I don't see it as a major blow to OSU's final four chances.

No, she was not beat out by the freshman. She never played a game this season until OSU thought she had recovered from the hamstring injury. We'll just have to disagree on how much this impacts the OSU program.

2 CUSA teams in this initial projection.......... 1 Big East team

I will be able to hear the howls from Columbia if they send UCONN to Greenville as the #1 seed with Lower Carolina the #2.

Why would South Carolina complain about getting the weakest 1 seed in a near home environment?

We all know that Carolina be sent to Portland to play Oregon anyway. Creme should know this.

Seems like that spot in Oregon is specifically reserved for the SEC champion! Almost makes you want to come in 2nd just so you can stay this side of the Mississippi River.
