Ha you're welcome. You must be thrilled that Stanford's streak ended when it did. Duke now remains tied for 3rd longest streak in the top 25. It'll be a few more years before Baylor can pass 312.

Earlier today when I saw that Stanford had dropped out..... made me think that Duke had a very long streak that ended in 2016... and I was trying to find out how long it actually was..... I figured it had to start in 1999. Yes... glad to see that Stanford didnt pass 312 weeks

Thanks Lady Vols :p

Hard to believe that Tennessee had dropped out with a minimum of 4 McDonald AA every year.

Does mean that this is the all-time list?

  1. 565 -- Tennessee -- 2/17/85 to 2/15/16.
  2. 458 -- Connecticut -- Preseason 1993-94 -> current
  3. 312 -- Duke -- 11/29/99 to 1/11/2016.
  4. 312 -- Stanford -- Preseason 2001-02 to 12/17/17
  5. 267 -- Baylor -- 1/5/04 -> current
  6. 201 -- Notre Dame -- Preseason 2007-08 -> current

Another current streak that we own: I believe UConn has made the sweet 16 ...24 years in a row....starting with the 1994 final 8 game against
eventual champ North Carolina. I think that Stanford is next best.....maybe around 7 in a row....quite a gap. That may well be history come March 2018.

That Carolina team had as point guard one Marion Jones....she of track fame and gold medals....also of track infamy and loss of said gold medals.

Possible. Likely. However, this may not be the all time list.
Someone needs to do some counting to exclude La Tech, ODU, may be even Georgia.

Теннесси made 27 consecutive S16 appearences from 1982 to 2008.
Our score is 24 posted above.
UConn has 10 consecutive FF and 12 E8 streak going.

how many weeks of ranking in a season, maybe 22 or 23? that would mean 4+ years after this year for UConn to pass Tenn. A good thing for Geno to shoot for (not that he necessarily cares about this record; he's got the only record that matters: 11 and counting).

We should note that the statistics were compiled by Mel Greenberg, who recently had the Almighty invoked against him for suggesting that maybe USC beat a tired MissState team in the NC. So, all these statistics are deeply suspect. :)

Sports Illustrated published a photo of the finish of the 100 meter finals in Sydney. It turns out the basic picture was just showing the second group at the finish (left side below). When you unfolded the 3-page foldout it showed Marion WAY out ahead of the others.
