The college basketball season is underway and the most exciting freshman in the country might just be Crystal Dangerfield, the 5-foot-6 freshman point guard for the University of Connecticut women's basketball team.

On Thursday night against No. 2 Baylor, Dangerfield — in just her second collegiate game — came off the bench and dropped 19 points, five assists, and four rebounds to help give the Huskies something rather rare these days: an upset.

It may be hard to believe, but this year UConn is ranked way down at No. 3 in the country. For now, anyway.

Last time I saw a female basketball player was in the Yahoo Finance, it was Stewie.

Look at that picture: have you ever seen a ballplayer looking more fit? not just the guns, but the shoulders, forearms, neck, and delts. The kid can run all day--literally--and still have muscle strength to maintain shooting form. After Geno threw Kyla and Molly in with 150 seconds to go in the 1st half, there was a stoppage of play with a few seconds left, and both were clearly gasping for breath. Understandably so, because their adrenaline surge must have been way over the top. But not Crystal. She played and starred for 30 minutes and could have gone another 30 easily. UConn prides itself on its superior conditioning, but Crystal can bury anyone.
