Christyn Williams and Crystal Dangerfield will have to lead the Huskies from the backcourt this season!

Who's poised to have the better season? Who is needed more? Are they the X Factor for success this season?

While I don’t know who will have the better season, I do believe that Crystal & Christyn are the best starting backcourt in WBB this season.

It’s close. Oregon has the top player in Ionescu and a solid second guard in USC transfer Miinyon Moore, but I’m looking at potentially 2 AA guards at UConn that are both capable of taking over games, so I give the edge to the Huskies. In addition, I’m biased.

I give the UConn back court the slight edge if Crystal is completely healthy (which means see can practice full time).

In what parallel universe is this backcourt comparison "close" or a "slight edge" for UCONN ? Minyon Moore is a nice player 41% career shooter 28% 3PtFG%. She played at USC for 3 years & her teams NEVER made the NCAA tournament.

As I said, I’m biased. Beyond that, I truly believe that Christyn is the 2nd best guard in the country behind Ionescu and I believe Crystal, if she’s healthy, is better than Moore. But let’s see how the two backcourts matchup in Storrs in early Feb. That game will be a pretty good indication whether I’m right or wrong in my assessment.

One semi-quantitative way of looking at this in this universe assuming they play to their potential (and health)

CW top 10 player, CD Top 20 player Ionescu #1 MM Maybe top 40?

Geno is the difference maker. While most guards use the Geno system: View the court and take what is given Gene has at least 5 that are taught to do that. Everyone on Geno's teams has a bit of a guard in them because Geno is and loves guards. We at times forget the 3 or 4 non guards on the floor and must instinctively react as the Guards expect. It is not a 1 or 2 man/woman show. Just my diverse opinion.

Pivec & Slocum? then Tudor, Goodman, Simmons. Maybe Oregon & UCONN have better starting backcourt, but I'll take OSU's full complement of guards/wings.

If we’re talking about G/W’s and depth, add in Evina, if she’s eligible, along with Ania, Aubrey and UConn can also move Megan to the wing. I still like UConn over OSU or anyone else.

Agreed, if Evina is in the mix this year, then UCONN is going to have an amazing stable of guards/wings.
