SS: How do you see the strength of the Big East this year as compared to in the past?

CC: “After Connecticut and Notre Dame, which are basically the same, the third, fourth and fifth (teams) maybe aren’t as good as they have been in the past. In terms of how that is evaluated for the tournament it really doesn’t (matter).

Neither do I. The RPI is about 20 points out of range and the SOS a mediocre 35ish. I think if RU had played their normal strength of schedule with about the same results (which is anyone's guess) they might have had a shot.

Quite simply, RU had a bad season. They are likely to finish at 8-8 in conference at best, and lost to Princeton and Boston College OOC. It is what it is.

For all the complaining about CVS on the RU board - about to get worse when we don't make the NCAA's - I do wonder if the folks would be so anti Viv IF she was 45 instead of 65.

As CVS said a week or so ago. "If it happens, it does. If not, that's life"

I'm already looking ahead to next year with the maturely of our freshman, and sophomores. The return of Canty hopefully 100% healthy. Alexis Burke being able to play, and the incoming of the #1 PG recruit Tyler Scaife, and also hopefully Ieshia Small will also commit to us too.

I don't care what any CVS or RU haters say. Our future is very bright. Starting with next year.

We have these next two games, and then the BE tourny. I wonder if we would accept a WNIT bid if we got invited?

I think that would be a wonderful starting block for our young kids if we don't get a NCAA bid, which our chances look dim.

I also wonder if her age is a factor and would be very interested to know if the UNC fans were as anti Sylvia last year when she missed the NCAA tournament. Sylvia righted the ship this year and has recruited a fabulous class for next year - her own version of the Fab 5 we got at RU a few years ago. It will be interesting to see how she deals with all that talent.

We did have a bad season this year, but I too think we will do better next year. We won't make the NCAA tournament this year unless we win our next two regular season games, win our 1st round BE tournament game and upset either ND or UConn in the next round (not likely). So CViv is right - "that's life". If her contract is not renewed, that's life too, but I personally hope she is able to turn things around and go out on her own terms.

Rutgers has a better shot next year but without knowing their conference schedule who can say how they will do? Is St. John's and Georgetown off the schedule? Pittsburgh and Syracuse are going to the ACC. What is Notre Dame doing next year with league afiiliation? The Catholic schools breaking away makes this a lot more confusing and WHO Rutgers plays will be a major part in seeing how they do in CViv's last year on her contract. A big year can earn her a new deal in my opinion.
