Well...he kind of through his guys under the bus. "I tried to the get them over the top but they kept missing shots. I let them down but it is tough to win when you miss free throws. We came up with a plan and got to within one but couldn't hit a shot." He's still a scuzzbucket in my book.

He is not a coach...He is a recruiter....that is it! He literally said I should have done more, given them a defense or offensive set to run, something!.....smh...go to the NBA and get your money you have enough pros to steal from

Listen, I don't like the guy. But we got some calls that game (they did too) but he didn't use the stage to complain about them. He talked positively about us, and I like that.

It's all good for the mojo :)

God I love the mojo...

Very gracious in the loss. Talked us up. Didn't expect that.
Gotta say I hated the man with fury but I kind of like him now. If we lost it would have given so much credibility to the one and done model, so that's why I was so nervous about a loss. In the end he's a classy guy, and if he isn't paying his players I don't hate him, just hate the credit he gets for doing what he does with so much oozing talent.

I totally agree with that. But to the OP's point, scumbag or not, he was very eloquent and effusive in his praise for UCONN. I think as the winners we can hopefully be gracious and magnanimous. We can go back to calling him scum next season! ;)

It's not the one & done stuff that bothers me… He's just playing under the current rules… If we were getting one & dones, most of us would be defending it because it is within the rules…

As far as the other stuff, I agree, why get into that now… We just won the National Championship & should be gracious...

He really stressed out a thousand times how they were young and that they are freshman..... they were nervous, and blah blah. But weren't they freshmen for the entire tournament? they did pretty good to be freshies... so why point it out now when they finally cracked?

the worst part was the "DUHHHHHHHHHHHH"

I didn't see the classiness in him but if others did them I guess I was watching the wrong post game interview

I'll leave this for another day. Good night guys. Another great game tomorrow. Go Connecticut

A classy guy, eh? You must be a youngster. Try living through the '90's with non-stop Squid BS coming out of Vitale's mouth and then talk to me. I hope he loses every game he ever coaches.

And he won with Freshmen in 2012. I think he's sincere in wanting to get rid of one and done, but for selfish reasons, he'd finally have really talented and experienced teams. His team was very lucky to win over Wichita State, which was jobbed by the refs.

Calipari gets along fine with KO, didn't he coach him in the NBA at one point? Actually every NBA coach probably coached KO at some point. Bad blood with Calhoun goes back to his UMass days, Calipari also got along great with John Chaney as I recall. Did say some nice things about us, but complains too much about his freshman. It's his choice to recruit the one and dones, so if you want to live by that sword, you die by it too.

Calapari has seemed genuine in his praise and respect for Ollie. Has been very gracious in this loss. I tip my hat to him. I'm glad he admitted he couldn't put his team over the top. Now we need some big's with the last scholly's

I'm just glad we didn't have to play Wisconsin. Playing against Cal gave us a chance to out scheme the opponent. I don't think we get such a clear advantage against Wisky.

Randle was "winded" two minutes into the game.

Good coaches don't let that happen. Conditioning is under their purview as well.

They must have a lot of escalators at Rupp.
