Here's a nearly unbelievable trivia question that shows the complete level of dysfunction of the UConn Football program that Coach Mora now faced with fixing

Question : Can you name the last set of players that played their 4 years at UConn with the same Head Coach?

Question : Can you name the last set of players that played their 4 years at UConn with the same Head Coach?

Answer : That would be the high school recruiting class of 2005/2006 that includes Anthony Sherman, Zach Hurd, Greg Lloyd, Scott Lutrus, and Lawrence Wilson.

That is absolutely insane to think about. Were saying that the last person to come to UConn and play their 4 years for one coach is Anthony Sherman -- someone who had a full NFL career and was a true NFL vet and is now retired from football. That one trivia fact clearly demonstrates the level of dysfunction we have had in this program.

Think about this...we are getting close to the point now that that players we are currently recruiting were not even alive the last time a UConn recruiting class came in as recruits and played under one coach. That is absolutely insane.

How about this one: In the past 4 years (2018-2021) UConn has 1 win vs FBS schools. Less than FCS programs Maine (2 wins), UC Davis (2 wins), Northern Arizona (2 wins) and Jacksonville State (2 wins).

I think Sio Moore came on just after that group of backers. We haven't had a group of LBs even come close to that since. None of them were highly rated recruits, but they could all play and Lawrence and Sio stuck around in the League.

Not attacking the OP or anyone who enjoys masochist, sadistic trivia, but can't we just move on? Any diehards are well aware of our dire recent past and are trying to move forward with optimism for the new staff. As we are in the holiday season, why another kick in our bells to remind us of what we want to forget? :(
There is nothing nearly unbelievable about what has taken place as we all witnessed it. As one of the few still hanging in I hope the new staff and new year will build a better team and optimism among the fans.
Again no attack @UConnSportsGuy but why start a trivia thread and 12 minutes later supply the answer to your own post???

Head coach turnover isn't rare. In fact, I'd say UConn has been comparatively stable. Exceptionally poor, but stable. Pasqualoni was fired in his 3rd year. Diaco got 3 full years and Edsall 2.0 got 4 years. Compare that to a school like say, USC who, since 2013 has had 6 head coaches: Lane Kiffin, Ed Orgeron, Clay Helton, Steve Sarkisian, Donte Williams, and now Lincoln Riley.

I long for the day that UConn loses a head coach because they're good rather than because they're bad.

I kind of agree with what you're saying, but on the same token it was eye opening to hear how far back we had to go to find a class that had the same coach for their entire time here. Maybe it didn't have to be done as a trivia question, but it was a sad and interesting stat.

The funny thing, this is not unique to UConn. Of the 130 schools in FBS football, only 39 (30%) have been at their current school for 5+ years and only 10 (7.7%) have been at their current school for 10+ years.

Look at the tenure of the last 5 head coaches at Temple: 3 years, 2 years, 4 years, 2 years, 5 years.
and Cincinnati: 5 years, 4 years, 3 years, 3 years, 3 years.

Edsall's first 12 year stint as UConn head coach was unusual by college football standards.

Which leads one to believe these two items may be somewhat related. I suspect that there was very little interest in stealing uconn‘s head football coach.
