Like any other virus it seems to have to run its course. Most of the state that have had a low infection rate are now having high numbers. It just took much longer to reach those states. Most of them do not have the high conjested population centers that allowed it to spread faster. Sometimes there is nothing that can be done except let it run its course. Most people will get it at one time or the other and the majority will of the infections will be relatively non serious. Only those in high risk catagories and also dealing with other issues will be at high risk of death.
The problem with that is no one knows the long term complications associated with this nova virus. Once again,
this is not the flu. It is a nova meaning new virus, never seen before. Who knows if 10, 20, 30 years from now those infected, even those who were or are asymptomatic, will develop lung, liver, heart or even brain damage. No one knows. So to me, limiting the infection rate as much as possible is not only the smart course, but in the long run we may be saving our society unbelievably hefty medical costs.
