I am going to be pilloried for this, but, what with the other problems we have in this State and Country, don't you think our Congressional Delegation has better things to do than get involved with issue? I mean 4+ dollar gas, a bad economy, divisiveness, and other problems, and our Congressmen are having a hissy fit with the NCAA. Sorry folks. I say we take the medicine, and get on with it.

You know, sometimes I really have to question that statement. However, I am not about to get into a political discussion. This is not the time nor the place. Just suffice it to say that The Uconn's mens program would not be high on my priority list.

It seems that you misunderstood my comment. I am not being critical of JC. my criticism is for the Congressional delegation. I have all the respect for JC. I too am a cancer survivor. This hissy fit by the Connecticut Congressional Delegation is nothing more than grandstanding during an election cycle. THAT IS WHO I HAVE THE ISSUE WITH, not the coach.

I didn't expect the NCAA to simply rollover. Of course they'll defend their position

they're the idiots that made the stupid ruling to begin with. So the idiots are agreeing with their idiotic self. It's what they do best, scratch their own backs

To summarize: The NCAA unfairly punishes the state university. Our national elected officials tell them to stop. NCAA says no. The question is what do our elected reps do now. When you are being bullied, and we are, the first thing you try is asking the bully to stop. Sometimes though you have to hit back. Once their bloodied up a bit their shown for the cowards they inevitably are. So, now is the time to see if our elected officials are all talk. First up: a document request for all documents discussing UConn. Next up request a list of all infractions and punishments. Then bring them to Washington and grill them for the inconsistancies.

I do not disagree with you but they have done nothing to fix the problems you stated and now that they jumped in to this bullcrap with the NCAA they need to do something and not back down.

2 observations:
1) At first, I thought the 'Emmert has it in for Calhoun' folks were being overly paranoid. Now I'm not so sure. He's starting to run his mouth like a certain governor who thinks he's the savior and is always right.
2) And speaking of politicians: the pollyannas here who think "Congress has other things to worry about and doesn't have any power anyway" need a reality check. Ask West Virginia if they think their Senators should have stood by and done nothing during the Big 12 stuff. The NCAA has pissed enough people off that Blumenthal/Larson will find a lot of willing allies in Congress. The NCAA owes its existence to federal lawmakers.

If you think any of our Congressmen or Senators could realistically do anything to help any of those causes....
