Our program is in a tough position right now. We've heard from the UConn Prez and AD, the Gov and the CT Congressional delegation on the situation. But we really haven't heard from JC. (I don't count Wtby Republican stories buried behind a pay wall). Why isn't he out there with a few, selected high-profile media appearances (i.e. PTI) getting the UConn side of story more play? I think it would do a world of good. It probably wouldn't be too pleasant for him, but so what? The program would benefit. One of his strengths over the years was turning perceived negatives into positives. Here's a great chance for him do it again.

Couldn't agree more. Calhoun seems to tend to go into hibernation during the off seasons but I do think it's a perfect opportunity for him to be more open about both himself and what the basketball program will be facing next year and beyond.

What more do you want him to do? Didnt Uconn appeal the NCAA ruling? I dont think his goal is to make the NCAA even more angry

Herbst might have muzzled him, especially if all that is going to come out of his mouth is righteous indignation and defiance.

Isn't he out and busy on the recruiting trail, doing what he can as a coach?

His message would be the same as Manuel's, and Calhoun's not exactly a sympathetic figure nationally.

The help needed is on the court not off the court.

When it was first announced what concessions UConn was giving up in hopes of the NCAA granting them a waiver, Pat Forde wrote an article saying he wished JC wasn't bedridden with his back injury so he could personally see him beg at the feet of the NCAA, the national media doesn't give a about what JC has to say about this.
