This team is 10-1 with a handful of real good wins. Our backup point guard had 9 assists in 3 different games, Karaban is the veteran leader we need, Stewart and Ross both got involved yesterday, Mullins is an elite talent, our combo of Centers is great once again... assuming the team stays healthy and Silas reaches his potential, this team truly has a shot at #7 as long as the rebounding and free throw shooting improve a bit.

I do wonder "what if" we had a healthy Reed and Mullins for the Arizona game. I believe that we would've won comfortably and be ranked as the top team in the country right now. Mullins would be that much further along in his development and I wouldn't be worrying about a Reed re-injury every time he gets contact.

That said, this is a very good team with a tremendous amount of depth. Sure there are question marks? Will Solo find his shot again? (Though that shot last night was amazing!) Can we get the fouling under control? Can we get more consistency from Stewart and Ross? (I love the way these two guys support each other. Each is the first to congratulate the other when one or the other makes a good play. That's not always the case when players are directly competing for time. I look at that as a really good sign.)

It's incredibly hard to run the regular season table and I don't "expect" it to happen. But if we get healthier, I do like our chances to make some noise in the postseason.

Right now, I think we are pretty close to Duke and Arizona - based upon common opponents and locations of games played. We appear to be in the second tier (Michigan alone in first tier). And, that’s pretty darn good for this point in the season.

Incredibly, our offense looks pretty good even though we have key pieces who don’t fully understand it.

We might not get a 1 seed, and we might have mishaps that knock us down to a 3, but this team looks like it will be ready in another month or two. As long as Michigan isn’t as good as they appear now - I don’t see a team that I’m afraid of.

i couldn't be happier as well. but this will turn into a classic boneyard thread about a the reasesons you should be disapointed. Look at last night's gane thread.

Pretty sure we'll see Zona down the road in March. Will be an epic game. Like our chances with a healthy team

Jaylin : "That was very nice."

That tells you something.

The good thing about the tourney is that with teams like Arizona, Duke and Michigan, you probably won't have to beat more than one.
If we got a 2 seed, we might. Duke in an elite 8 game. Zona in the FF. Michigan in the championship

Michigan will not beat teams by 30 with regularity..They will have a bad shooting night, or foul trouble.

Our issue with getting a 1 seed in the East is Duke will always be favored, we do not play them, and they will feast on ACC games and home games against harder teams. So it's going to be really hard to surpass them unless they trip up and lose some and we do not.

According to the gambling gods, we have the second best chance to win the National Title

MI is first
Dook is a very close 3rd

We're good people

Same for Gonzaga

Technically the easiest schedules on the way out go
Zaga
Uconn
Duke (2x against the Ville, 2x rivalry games with UNC, Michigan in Feb)

Before Iowa State, Zona, Michigan, Purdue

Best thing I heard last night was in the pre-game (or maybe it was halftime) when Michigan was described as "getting sloppy" and could be taken advantage of.

I agree 100 percent but I would add that the fouls need to no greatly reduced and foul shooting has to improve. I am confident that both of those issues in due time. This team is still developing, but with time the offense will become more efficient. In March, UConn will be elite.

OTOH Reibe wouldn’t have gotten so much floor time, and his added experience/development will pay off big time. Not entirely clear to me that trading an early season loss for a more experienced Reibe was a bad thing.
