Could we play Illinois the 23rd at home?

I'm not very knowledgable on how this would all play out, but doesn't this not solve the major issue of playing a conference game? Sure this has bowl implications, but UConn would play one less conference game than everyone else.

I don't think UConn is winning the conference or the east or what have you but something just seems off replacing a conference opponent with an OOC game. That being said, I would gladly play Illinois at home even though we play them in 2 years and adds a game back in September when the weather is great.

If Illinois could make this a conference game...

If the league is presenting us with a scenario of going with one less conference game (Benedict would know if that's the case or not), then I say we absolutely do it.

1) Gives us a "free" chance to get a 6th win toward a bowl game*. (If necessary..... but its not.... because we'll be 11-0 without it...)

2) Helps out a fellow future conference mate (see what I did there?)

3) If turned into a home game, would likely draw pretty well.

I think this is a great idea. Especially since it gives us a home game with a more winnable opponent than USF would've been.

Just do it!

Aresco wants his best horse chalking up a nice P5 win. He's about the conference, and will throw UConn under the bus in a NY minute to prop up his showcase team. The last thing he wants is a make-up game in CT late in the season.

Get ready to hear the term "logistics" thrown around a lot if the reschedule doesn't happen. Substitute the words "low priority" whenever you do. I think they'll give it a shot but maybe not forcing the issue.

Sad but true.
