It's the global warming effect. Due to climate changes, the seasons are being extended into 700+ day spans in all parts of the country except those that do not recognize the phenomenon, but none of those are places that the next champion(s) is coming from.

Well, after the not-great '99 season, the team really flourished and won the title in the little-remembered '100 season.

Was I Rip Van Winkled and miss a yeat?

I love learning new verbs.
Rip Van Winkled.
Schimmeled
Stoked.
And last night on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" (I love it!), Guy Fieri complimented a chef by telling her she had "jackpotted" him.
I also remember many years ago when George Wallace lost an Alabama election to a more ardent racist than even he was then. He vowed: "I ain't never gonna git 'out-segged' agin!"

Uconn will be so dominant next year that the NCAA will go ahead and award them the 2014-15 title in advance as well.

The writer had the number 10 on his mind because that was the # of drinks he had before he wrote the column.

Think Spinal Tap.

I am looking forward to a couple more wins, so we can do the Spinal Tap references to death. As long as we aren't channeling "Our appeal is becoming more selective"

That's actually not precisely what Wallace said, but it'll have to do. Use your imagination.
