OT: Cosgrove taking leave from ND

Yesterday it was announced that Jr forward Danielle Cosgrove would be taking a “leave of absence” from ND until the spring semester in order to deal with mental health issues. In the age of Covid-19, I know many of us are dealing with emotional and psychological challenges. Hopefully, the time off will provide Cosgrove with the opportunity to get well soon.

At the same time, the departure of Cosgrove is one more challenge for ND WBB under new HC Niele Ivey. Cosgrove had an up and down sophomore year under MM. There was some speculation that she might transfer. Whether or not she does return to South Bend in the spring remains to be seen.

Just a gentle suggestion to perhaps reword the thread title, which IMO is misleading. She's not "leaving ND"; she's taking a leave of absence from the team.

Whatever the team, wish this young lady all the best, and that she and her family deal with these issues and return to health soon.

Point taken. Although Cosgrove’s announcement seems vaguely similar to Taya Reimer’s announcement several years ago, before she ended up transferring from ND to Michigan St.

Well, then, if/when Cosgrove announces her transfer, we can then accurately report that she's leaving ND. But we're talking about two different people.
