Don’t know if this procedure has been discussed before, I first heard of this procedure 2 yrs ago on my favorite podcast, the All In.

It was episode 133 back in July ‘23.

If not familiar, the procedure (scan) takes about five minutes and is low-cost test for people over 40, especially those with family history of heart issues, to assess plaque in the coronary arteries and predict heart attack risk. I mentioned it to several friends who went and got tested.

So far multiple stents, a bypass, statins, and major dietary changes have resulted. Another one with a score of zero

So finally I got around to being tested, expecting great results because of excellent cholesterol numbers, frequent exercise, walking 18 holes 3 times a week in this TX heat and no symptoms of shortage of breath chest pain etc.

Well damn, my number was very high and now after a normal echogram and seemingly no issue with the stress test, looks like I may be headed for a stent. I have one artery that has blockage.

So long story short, you would be advised to have this test.

Most insurances don’t cover, I paid $75The vital heart check you may need after 40 — but have probably never heard of
