this was broadcast on the Golden State Warriors game against the Denver Nuggets last night. Btw, UConn WBB hasn't lost two in a row since March of 1993.

Pretty amazing, no?

Yeah, well, Golden State would gladly trade that record for not having lost two in a row in the playoffs for the last 12 months!

I want to see 100 wins in a row and 1,000 games in a row w/o btb losses. I expect the former in February and the latter within four years.

As you probably know, they did! GSW had a 3-1 lead over Cleveland last June, but the Cavs came back to take the series 4-3. Lebron now has as many rings as Larry Legend!

What's our count now? Are we over 900?

Heck, we haven't lost 1 in a row in almost 90 games.

Well, we're talking 23+ seasons averaging 30+ games, plus a 12-0 record so far this season. So that's above 700.

Games Without Consecutive Loss After Stanford

If my math is right (following off of Carl's number) they are 862 in a row currently. Beating Creighton after Stanford had them at 775.
Sounds right. Stanford would be 774 and the win streak is 88.
It is in some ways a little less impressive when you consider in order to lose two games in a row you first half to lose a game and since the start of the streak in 1993, they have only lost 56 times. So you could say the streak is really 56 wins after a loss, rather than 862 games without consecutive losses. Doesn't have quite the same ring, though!:rolleyes:

The record from the start of that 1993-4 season is an astonishing 806-56 = .935 - prior to that season Geno's record was 162-78 = .675
And the last decade plus 13 games (2007 - current) it is 379-18 = .955

Nice work! ESPN agrees and made it 863 tonight.

UConn extended several other streaks on Wednesday. UConn's home winning streak now stands at 55 games. The Huskies also have won 117 straight against unranked opponents, and 292 of their last 293 games against foes outside the Top 25. The program is now 300 games over .500 since the start of the 2008-09 season (312-12). UConn also has gone 863 games without losing two in a row. The Huskies are 57-0 after a loss since March, 1993.

Repeat mention here: I was at our second loss in a row in 1993.
At Gampel...first round of the NCAA tourney...close loss to Louisville...before they joined the Big East. I think we had lost to Miami in the BE tourney a few days earlier.
It was Rebecca's soph year....with Jen and Jamelle in their frosh year. Score maybe around 77-74?

The next year....with Kara Wolters and Carla Ber-uuuu-be coming on board....we lost to eventual champ North Carolina
in the final 8 at Rutgers. Future track star Marion Jones was frosh point on their team. Next year....with frosh Nykesha coming on board and closing the significant athleticism gap from prior years....35-0...making history ever since.
