from Kevin Duffy of the Connecticut Post:
UConn has met 75 percent of the cost for a new basketball practice facility, and construction will begin “as soon as possible,” the school announced Tuesday.
Between donations and pledges, $24 million of the necessary $32 million has been raised. Most recently, Mark Shenkman and his wife, Rosalind, committed $2 million to the facility. Shenkman previously donated $2.5 to the indoor turf football field.
The UConn Basketball Development Center, which is expected to take 24 months to compete, will sit adjacent to Gampel Pavilion.
Thank you Mr & Mrs Shenkman
