it was a tight, close game all the way till about 7 minutes left when UCONN simply stopped scoring. Great season for the Irish, and as disappointed as I am, i think ND showed they are just slightly better than UCONN this year - at least so far.

I'm not sure that UCONN has answers this year, but they perhaps can take consolation in the fact that last year ND lost 3 times but beat UCONN when it mattered the most...

and by the way, congrats to the great job Kim Barnes-Arico has done at SJU who totally earned the #2 seed in the BET after beating UCONN last week. i'm actually looking forward to a rematch vs. SJU. not so much a rematch with ND...

one last thing i want to add - there were many of us who rolled our eyes at people who predicted a good number of losses this year including the NCAA's. if we fail to win the BET and lose in the NCAA's, that will be 6 losses - quite a bit more than i would have thought.

having said that, take advantage now, the rest of WCBB. cuz next year, we're goin' on a roll!!

Congratulations to ND. They are a cohesive unit and really have no weaknesses.

I must say though I am surprised at this. While I believed this years NC was Baylor's to lose, I did not think Notre Dame was better than we are. They clearly are.

Now that we are a three seed, start times for games won't be what we're used to. A season of firers.

Congrats to the Irish. They played poised, confident and totally within themselves. They CLEARLY deserved the win.
Next year? I'm not ready to end this year yet. Is the season over? Not by a long shot, but against teams that know how to execute and make shots we need our A-game every night. Stef was great and showed what she can be tonight. That was great to see.
There's a BE tourny title waiting for someone out there. We are talented enough to get it but have a lot of work to do. GO UCONN!!

Notre Dame's guards are so big and strong and experienced and good. McBride was terrific tonight. McBride, Diggins and Novosel combined for 53 points. They just overpowered UConn, which is what they do to most teams.

Impossible, actually. At least for me.

I doubt that I will ever root for ND again.

Interesting in looking at the boxscore. Notre Dame took 22 threes, which is probably the most it has taken in a game all season. It made 7.

UConn lost this game with its TOs (a problem all year), offensive rebounds (another problem this year) and an offensive drought at the end of the game (another problem all year). Funny how the same problems/weaknesses show up again and again.

Agree that it's hard t root for ND, but if it's ND vs. Baylor in the tournament, I'll support ND.

If the incident was reported correctly, It was one player in her last year making a childish remark. The coach didn't condone the remark. I don't see it as something to be that upset about.

Hard to hold a grudge over one goofball player who got caught up in the moment of beating the greatest program in history in the Final Four. I'm a Baylor fan...I know a
little sumpin sumpin about a player making a bad decision.

If it were the Muffster then it would take a long time to let go. And I say shame on the announcers for even bringing it up.

NO NO NO...that type of behavior is NEVER justified...If my child did that, I would be very angry and embarrassed...In sports, as in anything else in life, you must learn to both lose and win GRACEFULLY.

I used to root for conference mates against other conferences teams. I have never liked ND, but would generally cheer for them to do well against other conferences. I still will root for other conference mates, just not ND.

In recent years, as the BE football conference has been ravaged by other conference raids, ND's insistance in staying independent in football has bugged me more and more. Oh, they talk a good line about making the BE a strong conference...except when it comes to football. The BE is good enough for their olympic sports, but not for their oh so special football team? The revelation tonight has sealed the deal for me. I KNOW I will never root for them ever again, no matter who they play. And yes, that means I will root for the Lady Vols, I will root for Rutgers, and I will root for Duke against ND. If you know how much I dislike those programs, you know that is saying A LOT.

True, the comment had no bearing on the game. UConn didn't play any where near well enough to deserve to win. ND played the better game and deserved the win, and the BE championship outright. But I do not have to wish them well in the post season. And I certainly will not.
