Our season tix are the top row right below Swin's jersey on the wall.
(We'e turned down upgrades over the last few years that move us down a few rows. We prefer the nice space behind us and love the view.)
Watch the ceremony, We are planning to show Swin how much Connecticut loves her.

Swin is from a Mon Valley steel mill town very near Pittsburgh. She played at McKeesport High and AAU ball locally. Those of us with Pittsburgh roots are quite proud of her success and her outstanding character attributes. She is a "yinzer" in the best sense.

so what the heck took 20 years and why wasn't #3 retired in honor of DT (not implying Swin doesn't deserve it)?

You have to be retired as a player for 'x' years before you are eligible for the Naismith HOF which is the requirement at Uconn for number retirement.

Give it time and Sue and DT will get there, and probably Breanna a number of years later. Wonder if Maya will be inducted at some point as well - she had a short, but very productive pro career after a great college career. Tina is also probably worth of being considered.

Maya is a lock for Springfield, and Tina is likely a lock. The only question about Maya is "when?" because she hasn't officially retired. She could be inducted as soon as next year. Sue should be inducted in 2025, 3 years after her retirement.

Did the Basketball HOF drop the requirement that the Women have to be a member of the Women's Basketball HOF?

Guess who this former Husky player is. Apparently FS1 doesn't know either.
