They don’t get that it’s a major national research university. Totally different animal from Providence College and d Paul Marquette and St Johns. And they think Jim Calhoun built it. They don’t get that your academic reputation doesn’t come from the basketball court. It comes from guys like Lew Rome telling university presidents and deans to recruit top flight faculty and committing to fund the infrastructure to support them.
