Eight eyes again this time. No time to say much , as we have a sentimental supper invite from the young marine who stayed with us for eight while he gradually earned his degree (and worked jobs to finance it)...taking us to the place where we first met him as a waiter as a "thank you."

The HUSKY: still at least as good as the best of his predecessors , and we had the chance to tell him so this time. Always active, terrific with the kids etc.

CROWD: larger and overall more enthusiastic with a solid influx of students who were in very short supply at game 1.

ARENA: as one of the new set of eyes in this foursome pointed out, there is a whole lot of what appears to be peeling paint (or similar) in the ceiling.

OPPONENT: not nearly as talented, as least on this day, as the Texas club - and no apparent traveling fans.

STEWART: Another very solid outing in all aspects. Will be tough to dislodge as the nation's best.

JEFFERSON: Maybe a shot at doing that dislodging. Knocked down a couple of 3/s again even with the larger ball and played her very typical excellent game in all regards.

TUCK: Still seems bothered with this brace to me (seemed to attend to it at times during lulls on the court...am not liking that and don't remember seeing it before) , although she played a very solid game and displayed her usual variety of moves and shots.

CHONG: DNP yet again.

WALKONS: Did their usual thing with their usual smarts and hustle.

EKMARK: Seemed very much a part of things during; actually took charge of some huddles, directed others on the floor at times, and displayed a surprising amount of leadership. Talked alot, gave it her absolute best on D. Did pop in a 3 though she seemed much more inclined to pass than to shoot, and made some nice passes while in that mode. Overall, we were encouraged by her play,,,,,,,,,,,...she'll probably never be very quick, but she certainly hustles. Unfortunately, must factor in that this opponent did not have much going for it, including speed, height, and talent, compared to Our Girls. Still, probably her best game to date. Would like to see her fire up some more threes.

WILLIAMS: Another nifty night though perhaps not quite as impressive as her marvelous first game (or day, for the sticklers). Skied again even more impressively than last year. Very rugged and effective on D. Hit some shots including foul shots. We thought she was perhaps somewhat under the weather....going to her nose on floor and on bench, and that might account for any small drop off in play from that EX 1 show.

NURSE: Rugged as always - couple of mistakes (only one of them really glaring). Another very good game and will obviously be a major asset.

BUTLEr: DNP

COLLIER: Still like everything about her and her game. One goof of note, but a nice night again and she will be a factor. Could say her outside shot needs more work. Very solid on D - rebounds.

SAMUELSON: Shot still off for most part and that still doesn't bother us. The things that did both our EX 1 foursome were better today for the most part: really got after it on D a couple of times, went after and got a rebound, seemed to have more overall hustle and involvement. But there is certainly room for more.

BOYKIN: A surprising DNP again and with a boot. HOpe I got to everyone - supper beckons.

Boykin won't be playing for some time. Not ready physically according to Geno.

I wonder if she is a redshirt possibility, particularly if Butler comes back ahead of schedule. Having only 10 scholarship players might provide enough playing time to keep everybody in the program; any number over 10 always raises the possibility of a transfer.

Collier gets it, for sure. Two-on-one with Moriah, had a 60% layup. She saw that Moriah had a 90% and slipped her a precise pass.

KLS warmed up nicely from beyond the arc.

And Gabby can fly. Easy to see why CD said that Gabby's perhaps the most athletic kid they've ever coached.

Gonna have some fun this season!

My observation in person today: Moriah Jefferson is sooooooooooo freaking good.

I thought she was the easily the best on the floor today, although Stewart does things that impact the game but not the scoresheet (well the scoresheet as well, but please start making all those chippies).
