It takes those 3 far fewer possessions to put those types of numbers up, though, which is why they have been better.

Don't really have a problem with this. You have to realize that coming off the season the team had last year we are basically off most people's radars. Win a lot this year, which probably means Jalen has a great season, and recognition will come his way.

Maybe they wanted to spread it out and not put two AAC guys in the spotlight.

Fatigue could cause FG and 3 pt % to go down. Put those other players on teams with no front court help, no kick outs. Jalen mostly created himself. I guess we’ll see when he plays Wichita State.

Honestly - this is EXACTLY what we want. We want our best player to have a giant freaking chip on his shoulder. That same chip that carried Kemba Walker from good but sometimes inconsistent player his sophomore year to best player in all of college basketball and greatest 11-game run we have ever seen his junior year of 2010-2011... and that same chip that carried Shabazz Napier from being inconsistent himself to being the unquestioned leader, the best player in the tournament in 2014 and the guy who could rightfully say "This is what happens when you BAN US!"

It is good that our head coach has a chip on his shoulder (as well he should after last year and the aftermath) - but much better for Jalen to have one (and hopefully Terry, Alterique and Mamadou as well). I hope Jalen is taking every one of these "slights" and is using them to channel his "great vengeance and furious anger" towards those who will attempt to poison and destroy his brothers...

A mature, angry (controlled anger, of course), focused Jalen being the unquestioned lead dog of this team is our greatest chance, by far, for having a good enough year to make the tournament come March.

Shamet was soooooo good last year. Basically a stat wet dream. And just think, he has 3 years of eligibility remaining.

All else being equal or maybe Adams stats only slightly worse, I'd agree, but he wasn't in the same ballpark.

Jalen doesn't deserve preseason All American consideration this year based primarily on the fact that Uconn is not a top 25 team the last couple years. He or anyone else on UConn won't get the recognition until we again become a big time program. We were horrific last year so his numbers mean nothing in the eyes of whomever came up with this list. I wouldn't call it a diss on him. He has to lead this team into the top 20 this year and prove day in and day out he is worthy of such accolades. Nobody is denying his talent but now he is a junior so it's time to take that next step like Kemba and Shabazz. Post season awards are what count.

Jalen has both the necessary tools and the opportunity to showcase them. If he puts his mind and body to the task and stays healthy, he can be an All-American and a first-round draft pick. But it's definitely up to him at this point. No one is going to give this UConn team anything, but it's all there for the taking if they work hard and come together early.
