But since we won, I'm going to.

That was the worst, most inconsistently called game I've ever seen.

But again, we won, so duck* it.

I'm gonna go burn down a Dunkin' Donuts for giggles if you guys are looking for something to do.

Hearing on the radio that PC's lifetime BE conference winning percentage is like 37% supplied all the giggles I need.

The replays of action in the paint looked like rugby scrimmages.

Didn't get to finish watching the whole game until now. Officiating was putrid. Tricky tack called on the perimeter (and frequently against TO and Wolf) but Providence players were allowed to tackle and push players every time while going for offensive rebounds.
Now, UConn did miss out on box outs on several plays but much if the 28 rebound advantage came from larger and stronger Providence players being allowed to push and shove with impunity underneath?

That being said, Batts and Henton manhandling all our guys inside,a s their guards did our guards...we definitely need to step up in toughness!

"I really think Cotton and Council make up the best backcourt in the nation. They can do so much with so little." - Tim Welsh.

"Shabazz Napier, once again takes a bad shot. His shot selection is almost as bad as Kemba Walker." - Tim Welsh.

what bozos they were, it was almost as bad as watching Dook Vitale and Mike
P-ACC-trick doing a Dook game together.

PC was getting screwed all night according to those clowns, with all bad calls and missed calls favoring CT. Joe D is less biased.

right, and having our entire front court foul out with PC getting more free throws proves your point

----------------------------------------------
my favorite two calls against us were in the 1st half, when we were in the position to score two easy layups but they bail out bad D with a call that results in us shooting 1 and 1, and we miss the front end.

seems like one team was allowed to be physical, another not so much. Then they started calling touch fouls on PC down the stretch. Saunders and Welsh didn't like that so much, they actually couldn't hide their hate

The refs made a number of bad calls against both teams all night. PC was allowed to play more physically for most of the game but the refs clearly missed what was likely a goaltend against UConn as well. PC also travelled and Carrie the ball most of the night.

From my perspective the three biggest blown calls against UConn were two on wolf and one that resulted in an out of bounds for UConn. The double foul was a horrible call, probably should have been a no call or a defensive foul. I lean toward a no call. The last Wolf foul was also very bad. The third one was a rebounding scrum where Batts quite literally shoulder tackled Giffey with no call.

The three biggest against PC were the potentially blown non-goaltend. I don't think the replay was conclusive. It was def going down but I'm not sure the shot trajectory had it going to the basket. The last Cotton foul was close, some body an he did get Napiers arm but more contact was let go all game long, very inconsistent on that call. PC is claiming the refs called a three a two in the first half, I didn't see it but that would be a horrid call if true.

Overall, it was so damn bad that I don't think either team won or lost bc of it, but man it was bad and very inconsistent.

The announcers were worse, very pro-PC. We're they PC announcers? I don't think they challenged one call made against UConn and challenged every call made against PC. Not to mention they couldn't get Ollie's name correct the entire game.

All that said both teams played with a lot of energy. PC is a dreadful defensive team and UConn is a dreadful rebounding team.

UConn has still not lost a game it should win.

No question on the 3 that was called a 2 in the first half. Cooley questioned it at the time. Refs did not take a look(which they can do); admitted after the game they blew the call.

The goal tend was an easy call. Doesn't matter if the shot wasn't going in. Has to be called.

Refs were putrid on both sides. Very inconsistent. Rugby scrums on one play, touch fouls on the next. Must have been tough on the players.

It's called Karma. Uconn has 2 points taken away in OT vs. Marquette which the refs later admitted was a blown call. Ollie said they didn't lose the game because of the bad call and he was right. Same applies for last night. Batts was charging over everyone in the paint last night and it wasn't called yet Wolf got called for everything when all he did was put his hands up.

First, I didn't see a replay of the three so I can't even tell you which shot PC is complaining about. I don't think they showed one.

Second if the ball isn't going to reach the rim, they won't call it, maybe they should but they often don't. Not sure what the exact rule is for that. It looked like the hot had no chance at the rim and was about a foot and a half short.

The scrims were mostly Batts and Henton tackling guys but the refs let them play that way for most of the game so I don't blame them.

LOL!!!! 39 trips to the free throw line isn't enough for you??!! Ridiculous. The most egregious non-call I saw last night was Boatright's ally-oop where he was straight up pushed while in the air. No call. And your team has a serious traveling problem. They travel every freaking play.

At the end of the game, UConn was playing center with a shooting guard. After our best 3 bigs fouled out.

What about Batts pirouetting out of control late in the game, for Daniels' 5th foul? The guy took 4 steps.

Surprised by the announcer hate. Welsh sounded like Kevin Ollie's agent all game.

True, that's when I thought "now they're just with us."

Priceless was the run PC made once UConn's lead hit 15, fueled almost entirely on touch fouls on one end an no-calls on the other.

PC was boxing out with their arms like offensive tackles and were allowed to get away with it. Why would they stop? Early in the second half, Olander had a nice calm, quick conversation with one of the refs about this and amazingly, the refs called a few of these on PC. It lasted a few minutes and then they were back to letting PC's bigs plow the paint again.

The double foul call was ridiculous. The PC big, on the floor getting up reaches behind him as Wolf is running up the floor and grabs his neck. Wolf tries to discard the choke hold and is also called for a foul? Puh-leeeze.

And did the refs really think the RJ's shot was so bad he couldn't find the rim side of the backboard? It was an obvious block/tip, yet they hand the ball to PC.

There were too many to list, and bad/no calls did go in both directions, but there is no doubt which side benefited the most by the way the game was called. To say the game was gifted to UConn by the refs is an outright lie that I can't believe even a PC fan would buy. Unless, of course that PC fan is a former coach with a mic in front of his face.
