http://blogs.mercurynews.com/colleg...evenue-to-the-sec-and-the-big-ten/#more-39078
This Article has the #3 at $23m in 2017-2018. #2 Big Ten (B1G) at $33m (with a renegotiation scheduled for 2017). And the #1 top revenue SEC at $36m. PER SCHOOL.
With the ACC & the B12 following with little traction.
And our Iowa State friend Seneca has the gall to say that this is the "pretend future"?
I will tell you exactly what is going to happen when the Universities are $20m per year different: There is going to be Blood in the water. The point that the series (written by Jon Witner of the San Jose Mercury) is that the Pac12 has some good things coming (ATT combo with DirectTV); but, cannot ever hope to parallel the huge ongoing gains by the SEC and the B1g (this is almost all the Conference Network discussion). They have some Big Population markets. But, they really don't have upside in those. Their barrier to entry, however, is that Time Zone and the separation of the land mass between the Pac12 and the other 4: they won't be raided as their most valuable Entities are on the far left coast. I do not see the GOR keeping the most valued ACC or B12 programs. Not when the dollars are flying so much higher.
