It would be a long shot, but they might bite at a 6 year deal that combines 3 games in the Big House with 1 at the Meadowlands, one at Gillette and one at the Rent. They would probably insist on a clause moving the Rent game if it hasn't been expanded to 50K+, but that might be a kick-start to real discussions on an expansion timeline. I'd imagine, however, that Rutgers would object to one of its new conference mates playing a neutral site game in their home state.

I plan on beating them, so they will never want to play us again. Hi ND.

Conspiracy Kitty would plead not to add Michigan to our OOC schedule in hopes that they are freed up for our conference schedule.

The BIG is going to have a small issue in scheduling. With a nine-game Conf. schedule and a need for seven home games. Finding quality one-offs may be an issue. They AD's just announced a scheduling co-op where they can facilitate game swaps.

Warde should make a standing offer of one road game for one H/H with the conference pool. So every year UConn would play 3 BIG games every two years based on whomever needs the games.

I had to think about that for a second, and I come to the conclusion that this is not a bad idea. THe concept of trying to work in a New York City venue into the agreement might be the closer to get it done.

I think our hand is forced to do what Subba suggested. And unfortunately, we may have to dangle the NYC compentent (as much as I hate that concept) to get things done. With a 9 game schedule, there are some teams in the western division that may not play RU in the metro area for 6 years. Hello Nebraska.

Many of us said this about the ND series long ago, but the state legislature did not understand it (I don't want to rehash ND yet again).

UConn could only guarantee itself 6 games a year. By agreeing to a neutral site, it would take 1/2 the profits of an extra game. In other words, it would be revenue positive to do this. Most saw it as giving away a home game (because they didn't realize that you have to commit to an away game for every home game).

It was bad math then. Now they should use this to their advantage. UConn is close to NYC.

The biggest difference between now and then........is that we cannot schedule as though we're a BCS program any longer. As sad as that is and as much as that sucks, that is the cold hard truth. We have to be more creative now.

As much as people have beaten up Warde, I think he's done a good job with the scheduling. The Boise and BYU games are good gets.

I would dangle a neutral site as the fourth (second home game). We need to.have quality opponents come to the Rent or this is all for nothing.

I would ask politely that our home games occasionally include teams other than RU, MD, Nw, IU, Ill. We'll play anyone on the road.

An alternating OOC schedule of

B1G road game
MAC guarantee home game
B1G home game
BCS road game

Or

B1G road
B1G road
MAC guarantee home
BCS home

Works for our needs. Sucks to have only 6 home games but it is where we are.
