Very happy for Pheesa. All of her hard work, preparation and relentless hustle paid off, and was recognized by the league. Is there a clause in their contracts that stipulates that if they win the ROY award, or selected to the all star team or all league, if they receive an additional monetary award from the league?

Congratulations Napheesa Collier on winning the WNBA’s rookie of the year award. Recognition that is well deserved. Does anyone know if she has signed with a foreign league team yet?

The great thing about this award is no one can ever take it away or resend it. She’ll always be the 2019 ROY. It’s been reported that teammate Sylvia Fowles has been calling her “ROY” for several months.

Yes we do. UConn Nation could not be more proud. She's the ROY TODAY, a newbie. How long do you think it will take before the Lynx becomes HER team? I say as soon as Maya retires. Maya is the face of that program. Seimone Augustus is 35. She missed most of the year due to injury. She's in the twilight of her career. She's been grooming and mentoring Pheesa all season to hasten her development and make her a better player. At some point Collier May very well become the face of the franchise. Augustus is just about ready to hand her the keys to the kingdom which could come as early as the end of next year (if she retires then), we'll see.
