Collier is no longer a rookie. She has found her niche on her team and in the league. The fact that she became a team co-captain her 2nd year on the team (as did Maya Moore) is a testament of her value to the team, and her leadership. The game has slowed down for her considerably. She knows what to do, and how to do it. Desire and consistency are two personality traits that Collier has embraced for years. She continues to improve daily as the season progresses.

Simone Augustus (now with the Sparks) said during the season last year that she could see greatness in Collier, and when the day came when she would no longer be there, she would turn the keys over to Napheesa, who she believed would ultimately become the face of the franchise.

Said keys are now hanging from Collier’s belt. The Lynx are at the moment Sylvia Fowles’ team. Collier is in the on deck circle waiting to take receivership when Fowles leaves/retires. The team is and will be in good hands during this transition.
