With no BCS, they took some of the components that gave a score last year and have complied week 1 rankings here:

UConn is ranked 111/128. Just another way to judge where we stand in relation to who we're playing.

Opponents:
BYU (32)
Stonybrook (NA)
Boise (50)
USF (91)
Tulane (112)
East Carolina (53)
UCF (43)
Army (117)
Cincy (51)
Memphis (93)
SMU (99)

We're at Tulane , so we're underdogs there.
Army is neutral, but kinda their home game.
So 2-10 looks reasonable.

Rankings don't determine games... :)

At the end of the season-something like Sagarin and some of the rankings, give you an idea, but at the start of the season-no.

I don't think UConn is the 111 worst team in America D-1. Just saying.

A lot of it is subjective and things change. Uconn could go on to win 10 games this season. And finish with a #40-ish or 50-ish ranking(s).

Computer rankings need about 4 weeks of data to begin to paint a fair picture. Until then it's pretty much garbage.
