2026 Recruiting: Cole Cloer visiting this weekend

Sixth man backing up both Stewart and Ball gives him a significant role and probably around the same minutes as the starters. While his ego might, the NBA doesn't give a whit whether you start or not if you're playing big minutes and showing out.

I'd be surprised if Mullens isn't the starter the majority of the year at the 2/3.

He will.

Every single media release wether by Coach or player, talks of Mullins as a bucket and some have said his defense is pretty good and he works hard at it. Dude might finish with better 3PM% than Solo for all we know.

But weirder things have happened (re: starting Samson, not Tarris) so who really knows?!?

OK, I'll rephrase - Mullens is not coming here unless he plays a significant role in his eyes and mind, not Dan Hurley's, mine or yours. Most athletes are wired that way.

I know that UConn isn't the only quality school in this country. However, no other school has been hotter over the last 4 years. And NC State is million light years away from UConn historically, much less recently. If Cloer decides NS State over UConn to me that is indicative of a kid who wanted nothing of the smoke UConn brings. Sorry. You choose Duke, Purdue, Kentucky, even Florida as recent champs, I buy. But to choose a team that two years ago had to get supremely lucky just to make it to the tourney and last year did not make it altogether, is weak minded s---. I wish the kid success, health and happiness. But that's weak.

He’s from there. I don’t like these kind of takes. We should get off our high horse a little

Will Wade is going to make NC State a perennial top 25 team

In this case the local school he rooted for had an advantage.

“Choosing NC State was an easy decision for me,” he told ZAGSBLOG. “It’s the program I’ve supported since I was a kid, and now I have the opportunity to represent the city and state that shaped who I am while competing in ACC battles against UNC, Wake Forest, and Duke. I’m excited to be part of the Red Reckoning that Coach Wade is building and to play in a system that highlights my strengths."

Well that sucks

So just curious but does Wade actually run a system that fits him. I can’t claim to have watched more than a game of a Wade coached team.

Can’t win them all. This one stinks but it sounds like lots of NC running through his veins.
Yup. Wanted him but between NC State being the hometown team and the Will Wade bag, was just too much to compete with.

I live in Raleigh, my son goes to State and my brother in law is an alum, and I've already heard it from both of them....

I think he would have been a great fit in Hurley’s system, and based on some comments he made during recruitment I think he would have been a great culture fit. Feels like there would have been a lot of mutual success here. But if the guy wants to stay close to home, all ya can do is shake his hand and move on

We got County. Time to lock in Landrew. Then all eyes on Mingo…still in a great spot this cycle

Sounds like a classic case of a kid taking his visits because it's his right and possibly to drive up NIL when he knew all along where he was going like Cooper Flagg.

It kills me to say this but...................................
I's just good business sense to increase the value of your commodity
