It's a mix of 2026 and 2027 kids, in part because of the age restrictions, in part because some of the 2026 kids played in the 2025 u19 world cup and probably didn't want to play in the worse comp americup. Not sure how they pull these teams together - this list is missing almost all the marquee names of this class with the exception of a couple.
Does anyone know if Landrew's USA team commitments(if he makes the final cut) include the FIBA Americup tournament in the first week of June? If yes- Fair to assume his arrival on campus for first summer session will be delayed?
Doesn’t miss a single shot!
Stop. He's not a 4 at all. We will bring in a backup 4. Can he be an emergency 4, I suppose, but it's one thing to put a 6'8" PF against the 6'10"-6"11" monsters out there, he's just way too undersized. And for everyone who talks about our offense, who cares? The positions are about defense and defensive assignments. He's got nice size at the 3 and his strength will play well there. Braylon was undersized for a 3 in our defensive system and I don't think Hurley wanted to repeat that experiment.
247: SFLot of brazen conviction there to be wrong. We brought in a 4 in Shaw and that kid won’t see any time, because Landrew will be getting it.
How many 6’10” monsters at 4 are out there outside of Florida? Big East was lucky to have a center that big. We play a spacing game with our 4. The only two 4s we were looking at when AK was exploring draft last year were thick bodied 6’6” each.
247: SF
On3: SG
ESPN: SF
Where is anyone getting Power Forward from? 2/3 of the majors (On3 = rivals at this point) is small forward. Make sense for our Ross platoon. IDK if shooting guard is just a mess up but all signs point to SF in Husky white and blue.
If Landrew can defend 4s he’ll get some backup minutes behind Khamenia there. Assume it will be matchup dependent, but on offense UConn’s 4 is running around off-ball screens like a typical wing.247: SF

Nice graphic. There will be nothing sweeter than turning Khamenia into a stud and watching Duke fans cry. In fact, it will be amazing if he's a key ingredient in how we beat them, along with BM. Will be a demonstration of how Hurley is another class of coach. If Landrew can defend 4s he’ll get some backup minutes behind Khamenia there. Hopefully 6’8 Shaw proves good enough to get spot minutes at the 4 as well and Khamenia shows us all why he was a McDAA and highly coveted point forward coming out of high school.
Hurley and co have a delicious opportunity to show how good their development system is with all of these sophomores and freshman being important contributors:
- Mullins: SO
- Khamenia: SO
- Hines: SO
- Landrew: FR
- Giltay: SO
- County: FR
Surrounded by upperclassmen:
- Demary Jr: SR
- Ross: SR
- Machowski: SR
- Nash: JR
- Shaw: SR
Practices are going to be a gauntlet. Paired with the incredible preseason and OOC matchups.. this team is going to be ready for the big east and post season play. I love this roster right now.

Nash will push County for the backup PG minutes early on for sure, IMO. Veteran with a proven floor general, pass-first track record, physical, bigger guard than Hass and Malachi.I would only reorder the bench as almost 1:1 replacements: County for Silas (might be, might not), Machowski for Mullins, Landrew for Ross, Shaw for Khamenia and Giltay for Hines.

Or even Liam McNeeley? Steph was a guard.Who is this guy, and has he heard of Stephon Castle?
He listed point guards, shooting guards, small forwards, power forwards, centers but no Steph Castle.Or even Liam McNeeley? Steph was a guard.
I was referring to: "Colben Landrew will be the best freshman Hurley has ever had & will blaze through the BE." as well as best wing. Guess I got my wires confused on the "has he ever heard of Stephon Castle?"He listed point guards, shooting guards, small forwards, power forwards, centers but no Steph Castle.
Wouldn't write Ross of this year, could have a really big year.If this kid can play some minutes at the 4, we can be very interchangeable with our lineups and matchups on defense. Imagine a potential starting lineup of Silas/Mullins/Landrew/Khamenia/Hines.
off the top of my head, Florida and Michigan. How many college teams actually have a skilled 6'10" power forward that weighs north of 230lbs? How many of those players are on our schedule? The kid will match up on defense with whoever works out best for the team but he has the physical traits - 235lbs, 6'10" reach, enough speed/quickness to be recruited at receiver by Alabama - to defend 90% of college PFs, and the offensive game to have an advantage at the other end.
It wouldn't surprise me too much if Landrew put up better numbers than Castle. But a lot of that will depend on how much Ross plays and whether Landrew gets minutes at the 4.I was referring to: "Colben Landrew will be the best freshman Hurley has ever had & will blaze through the BE." as well as best wing. Florida isn't on our schedule so that leave a Johnson-less Michigan, with the other half of the equation being that their PF will need to chase a 6'6" 235 lb tight end around the court.off the top of my head, Florida and Michigan.
Colben Landrew IS A PROBLEM
huh?Kid has a head like a Rotweiler
Weird how he was snubbed by McDonald’s
