OT: - Cockburn to the NBA | The Boneyard

OT: Cockburn to the NBA

Let’s just take a second and imagine a team with a starting lineup of Gaff, CV, Bouk, Precious, Cockburn. That was very potentially within Hurley’s grasp. Crazy how good of a recruiter and eye for talent he has

Ayo Dosunmo back to Illinois and seems like Kofi might be back too

Don’t get it... Ayo would be a sure 1st rounder and with uncertainty for a season why would he want to hurt his stock being a year older...

Agreed but at the same time, staying in college won’t make him a better fit for today’s NBA. Given that, can’t blame him for leaving if he stays in the draft.

Also, nothing wrong with making $250 K in Europe for a dozen years if he cannot play in the league. That can open a lot of doors afterward as well. Not everyone is suited for the NBA but you never know. Life is often what you make of it and there is more to life than the NBA. Just wishing him well and being a shining example of how sports can help build character and experiences that follow with you through life.

Garza back is pretty huge news for them. Big 10 is going to be loaded.
They’ll be the best conference for the 2nd straight year.

Iowa and Wisconsin are top-5 teams, Illinois is now a legit top-10 threat, Michigan State, Rutgers, Purdue, Michigan and Indiana have top-25 potential, can't sleep on Maryland or Penn State.

I'm not sure where Garza would be going other than back to school. He's a good college player, but doesn't seem like someone who will do much of anything in the NBA. Decent shooter, but too slow to get up a shot and not a ball handler like Jokic. Seems destined for Europe or a life in the G League.

It is one of the great ironies of recruiting that we can use the phrase, "I wish we had gotten Cockburn" and actually mean it.
