Not saying he would have made the difference between beating Michigan State or not but it was a big problem that he didn't play last night. He gives you a different look in our halfcourt offense.

Because he didn't play, DO got more minutes than he should. It's 4 vs 5 on offense with him in the game.

The flip side is Carlton is getting a lot of minutes early in the season, which will pay dividends down the road.

Michigan State’s big men, Jaren Jackson Jr., (12 points, 10 rebounds) Nick Ward (11 and nine) and Miles Bridges (six and eight), who played 17 minutes as he came back from a sprained ankle, were too much for the Huskies who manned those positions. Neither David Onuorah, who played 22 minutes, Josh Carlton, who played 17, Isaiah Whaley, Mamadou Diarra nor Kwintin Williams, who played two minutes each, could get off a single shot from the floor. Eric Cobb is still out with his sprained ankle.

Not a single shot from those 5 players. Wow. Going into the season we knew the 4 and 5 spots would be an issue but against very good teams it's a glaring weakness.

I do agree that guys like Carlton and Whaley should benefit in the long run by playing games like this. Hopefully later in the season they are better.

We couldn’t get off a shot from the bigs bc we barely tried. Their defense in the second half was great but we kept jacking threes instead of driving and dishing or throwing it in. MSU wanted to run and play quick when get could and us missing shots allowed that

Yeah, but 0? Not even a put back attempt? It's an issue and will continue to be one.

The days of Bazz and Boat leading the team in rebounding. Bigs box out while guards fill for rebounds. Basically conceding we don't have what it takes in the post right now. Is what it is.
