I noticed two Massachusetts kids started for Coastal Carolina last night. Both were class of 2018 and were lightly recruited. But, the kids highlighted to me how Northeastern kids develop when they go to college.
Isaiah Likely was listed as a 6-2 225 lb athlete by 24/7 and a 6-2 200 lbs WR by Rivals coming out of HS, but he is now listed at 6-4, 245 lb. and starts at TE. He had 32 catches for 431 yards as a sophomore and he has 7 catches for 215 yards and 5 TDs in 3 games this year.
Jerrod Clark was listed as a 6-4 230 lbs TE by both 24/7 and Rivals, but it looks like he played at 250 lbs his senior year of HS. By the time he got to CC, he weighed 280 lbs and he was greater than 300 lbs his second semester at CC. He redshirted his first year. Today, he is listed at 6-4 335 lbs. and starts at NT.
These are the type of kids Edsall developed at UConn in the past and they are available in the Northeast.
