College football coaching tiers 2018: From future Hall of Famers to questionable futures

The AAC has six coach's that made the list!

Tier 4 (Howard Schnellenberger Tier: Program Builders)
- Willie Fritz of Tulane @ #5 of 10

Tier 5 (LaVell Edwards Tier: Getting it done outside the Power Five)
- Ken Niumatalolo of Navy @ #2 of 10
- Charlie Strong of USF @ #5 of 10

Tier 6 (Hal Mumme Tier: All over the place)
- Randy Edsall of UConn @ #7 of 10

Tier 7 (Greg Schiano Tier: Coaches moving up)
- Mike Norvell of Memphis @ #6 of 10

Tier 8 (Jim Mora Tier: Jury's still out)
- Major Applewhite of Houston @ #8 of 10

I honestly didn't know Willie Fritz was thought of that well. I can see the Tier 5 coach's and am glad to see RE not in the Tier 7, 8, or non-tiered coach levels.

Willie Fritz was a homerun hire for Tulane. He’s older and not likely to get major p5 offers due to that making it unlikely that he’d leave them after building momentum (how many times have we seen that in the AAC), and he’s proven himself at many levels.

I honestly didn't know much about Willie Fritz. Great to hear Tulane landed a solid guy. Even if UConn doesn't immediately do well I think it helps if the conference does well.
