Even then, that class would need to be followed up with more good recruiting classes to have continued success. If a team finishes 7th or 8th in the conference year after year is that good enough? In order for one school to rise another must fall. Will it be Stanford? Oregon? Arizona? Oregon State? UCLA? Arizona State? Not likely. There are some conferences where a new coach might break through (Big Ten and especially the Big12)but for most getting above 7th or 8th place in conference would be a real coaching feat! [/QUOTE]
