"I'm actually trying to figure that out now," Valmon said. "I've done it from the athletes' standpoint. I want to make sure if someone else wants an opportunity to, I'll pass that along, since I've done it once before. It's an honor to put on the Ralph Lauren jacket and pants and hat. That's part of the whole experience."

Ok, I'm not so sure about this guy now.

I wonder if the Spanish coaches think the same way? :D

Leave to Dee to understand how much the coaches put into the experience and to think of them.

They don't get medals either. I don't think I was aware that they historically were part of the procession.

Maybe the line is clear between an official team coach and an individual athlete's coach, but there are 2 types (at least):

Team coaches selected by the national OC who coach a team in a team sport (e.g., basketball).

Individual coaches, such as someone who works with a sprinter who qualified for the 100 meter race.

In the second group, not marching makes sense; in the former group, one can make a reasonable case for their inclusion.

So they plan this for 4+ years and spend millions, you'd think they would make the walkway a little wider, for more people...or even add an hour to the show... it only happens every four years, why rush it...

Leave it to DT to say it best!!!! This decision by suits sucks big time!!!!
