Agree. That game last night was closer than close. Some here are acting like UConn clobbered South Carolina. If any of those layups off the 4 offensive rebounds as time ran out goes in (I mean really - what are the chances that they actually miss them ALL?), then SC wins, no OT. Not exactly dominant.

We (UConn) still have a lot of work to do, but this game did show we can play with anybody. I think - with all the freshmen - we probably have a bigger upside as the season progresses than the more experienced teams. I feel good about our chances to win it all.

If we play them again, we are not likely to go 2\15 on 3s and 3\8 on freebies. I think our kids, including Paige, were nervous and too hyped up to shoot well, until it got to the point where Paige knew that she had to shoot the ball with no alternative moves to think about and instinct took over. That last 3 she got off in a nano-second!

I can´t imagine a script that would have been better designed to give our kids more confidence for the future. A very poor shooting night, but their tenacious defense let them hang in there until Paige put on her Wonder Woman show.
