"Who knows? I think she will. I think Azzi will,” Auriemma said. “But again, I'm not the number one voice in their ear anymore, like I used to be. Now, there's just a lot of voices. … I'm hopeful, I think. Besides, if she stays one more year, she'll make more money next year when she goes into the draft because they have a new collective bargaining agreement coming up that should pay them more money than if she goes at the end of this year.”

Cool- be nice to see Azzi explode as team leader. -)

I’m surprised Geno would comment on this other than to say, “She hasn’t decided yet”
I agree with this. Now, I would think that she is heading out and onto the Washington Mystics roster.

It's a very interesting decision. I feel like it probably will be talked about more in the coming weeks. I know it got annoying in previous years, with all the NIL vs WNBA salary talk. But I feel Azzi is a unique case,in that the discussion is really a classic pro prospect discussion that you see far more on the men's side. What I mean by that is Azzi imo, could really improve her draft stock with her play in the tournament. Prior to the South Carolina game, people made it seem like she wouldn't even go first round. I think depending on how she plays she could definitely go top 5, I definitely wouldn't let her slip that low. But so many male players play there way into the lottery during the tournament and have their lives forever changed. Which is my second point and it's one I made about Paige last year. Azzi has always wanted to be a pro. Her injuries may have left doubt in some. I can appreciate the idea that she should just turn pro while she's healthy and thus will not risk achieving her dream by sustaining another injury in college.

No one ever talks about this. And it's just funny in retrospect but I vividly remember Paige's bold 4 for 4 goal. I also remember Azzi when commiting to UConn saying that she's joining to win multiple championships. No jinx, but I wonder if the goal of winning multiple titles is still on her mind as well.
